Marilyn Koshland
Marilyn Koshland, a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, holds a BA and MA from Boston University in Art History. She has taught silversmithing at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art and currently teaches silversmithing through Communiversity. She has developed programs for silversmithing with children and has worked in local school systems and with Scout troops.
She specializes in transforming antique Victorian cufflinks and buttons and 1930's celluloid Crackerjack prizes into unique earrings, pendants, and necklaces. She participates in antique and craft shows throughout the midwest. All her pieces are authentic period pieces.
A note from one of her granddaughters: "My grandma is the sweetest little old woman anyone could imagine. I never find her without an interesting pair of earrings on, later to find out they are something she's made. Ever since I was small she has let me work with her in her silversmithing room crafting rings, earrings and necklaces. I carry the jewelry she has given me in my heart, and while I have more reason to do so than most, I am sure that this small woman with a big personality will touch your heart as well with her charisma and works of art."
